Vmware unable to open kernel device

I'm trying to run a script when I plug in an RTLSDR dongle. My first attempt was with udev rules. Unfortunately there are two problems with this: per the man page for udev, the RUN rule key is only meant for very short scripts, and they aren't executed in a shell (whatever that mean). I am having issues with hackintosh via VMware Player on Windows 10. This is crazy to me, I have tried various things to resolve this, but I am unable to figure out an answer, maybe one of you know or think you know the answer. What is happening is that when I run the VMware, it starts up just fine, but then during Mac OS X 10.11 boot up, you can see the logo and loading gauge moving but almost half way, the entire VMware application shuts down. When I connect through ssh and use starx it freezes. I have forwarding enabled in sshd and in the MobaXterm client have it enabled as well.
